Mitch McConnell’s Victory speech drew a line in the sand over the fight for the soul of our country and the point of its existence.
In a few brief phrases, Sen. Mitch McConnell articulated the argument that big government liberals are the oppressors of the working class, while small government conservatives are its ally. His words are inspiring.
“[The Government] can do terrible damage to families and communities. I’ve seen the hurt in people’s eyes in the mountains. It breaks your heart to see the pain that distant planners in federal agencies are causing to so many in our state. And if you’re an elected official like me, it hardens your resolve to do something about it.”
“For too long, this administration has tried to tell the American people what’s good for them, and then blame somebody else when their policies didn’t work out.”
“Tonight Kentucky rejected that approach.”
Luckily, most of America agreed with Kentucky’s assessment last November. Because of their judgement, the President will soon have to choose whether to sign or veto legislation to move America forward and roll back his big government agenda.
Thank you Mitch for being a warrior in the good fight for freedom.
