They’re not from around here, Claire McCaskill’s new ad begins. By “around here”, I can only assume she means outer space because the accusations and assertions in this ad are from the beyond.
First, let’s be absolutely clear about one thing. When the McCaskill campaign uses the term Special Interests to describe her opponents in her US Senate race, we know what she means. She means Republicans, and she wants you to inherently feel that Republicans are evil when you consider how you’ll vote.
McCaskill’s ad begins by scaring the hell out of viewers, then goes on to the worst kind of politics – outright lies! Her campaign claims Republicans want to “end Medicare as we know it.” Politifact calls that claim their “2011 Lie of the Year“. But Claire McCaskill had no problem making that her first accusation against Republicans. The narrator ads, “Claire fights to protect it (Medicare).” Ohhhh reeeealllly? Like she gutted it by providing the 60th YES vote for Obamacare?
Her ad then claims that they (Republicans) want to cut taxes for millionaires and oil companies. [Deep breath] Yes, Republicans want to lower taxes for all taxpayers and fundamentally transform our tax system so that everyone pays a share. But no, we don’t want special tax breaks for millionaires. And the oil company “tax breaks”? The Democrat energy bill brought to the floor last year was such a political stunt that Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.) called it “laughable”. She gave a bloody fantastic speech on the Senate floor about the truth behind our current energy tax structure and why it is necessary.
Claire cuts taxes for the Middle Class. Really? Claire McCaskill’s record on taxes is a joke! Remember when she not-so-subtly threatened violence if Democrats didn’t get huge tax hikes? She is on record for huge Social Security tax increases, and her Obamacare vote put her on the side of all sorts of tax hikes. The National Taxpayers Union took McCaskill to task for her stance on taxes. As for her record on paying her own taxes? Take a wild guess.
Like I pointed out in a recent post, Claire McCaskill is no moderate Democrat. She exemplifies the difference between so-called Moderates and regular liberals. Liberals push an agenda of outwardly anti-American class warfare the likes of which Karl Marx would be proud, then try to convince you that they are just fighting for the little guy or doing what’s “fair”. Moderates vote for over 90% of the exact same agenda, then try to convince you that they’re in the middle of the political road. The only way moderate Democrats are fighting for you is if you’re sucking the teat of the American taxpayer. If that’s the 99 percent, I’ll be damned.
She’s Claire McCaskill, the senator from Misery, and she approves this message.
